Turkey Foot Hospice Bass Tournament 2009

Tammy Gebhart, Chair of the 2009 Turkey Foot Hospice Bass Tournament, was recognized by her fellow volunteers for her outstanding contribution to the Turkey Foot Benefit Crew and the community.

Perfect weather for the bass tournament brought out 170 boats, over 250 fish were caught weighing a total of 389.36 pounds.  The tournament is a catch and release contest and all fish turned in were alive and returned to the lake.  1st Place went to Bob Davis and Jim Miller,  5 fish 12.42 lbs, prize was $2000.00.  The biggest bass was caught by the team of Michael Manor and Darian Ginter, it was 4.18 lbs which earned them $1700.00.  The tournament awarded cash prizes to the top ten places and the top three big bass of the day. Merchandise prizes were given to the top 50 contestants. Total cash for tournament winners was $10,200.00 and there were awards for 1-50 in prizes worth thousands of dollars. more ...

Volunteers at bass tournament

More than 25 volunteers worked together to help raise money for the Turkey Foot Hospice Bass Tournament, funds which go directly to the Hospice in Logan County.  Most of the volunteers have vacation homes at Indian Lake but live other places in Ohio.  Contestants came from several states.

The biggest bass was caught by the team of Michael Manor and Darian Ginter, it was 4.18 lbs which earned them $1700.00.  2nd place for biggest bass went to Mike Bell and Brian Garver, it was 4.17 lbs ,$1000.00. 3rd place for biggest bass went to Tom Kreitzer and Nate Kreitzer, it was 3.94, lbs $700.00.
